2018 - Continues
For a long time I had prejudices about taking photos with a mobile phone. When I think about the reasons for this now, I see that my relationship with photography has an important share in this. The act of taking photographs has become ritualised for me in various ways and I think some of them will always continue. I mostly produce analogue photographs. Analogue photography is a process that becomes ritualised with its before and after, even if you don't want it to.
The basic impulse of human beings is to attribute meaning - to create meaning. However, there is also a risk of sacralisation in our relationship with meaning. To put it briefly, mobile photography has allowed me to discover new things in my relationship with the moment. The fact that the act of production is very fast, both technically and in terms of process, significantly reduces the importance of the means of production. This makes the producer's relationship with the object he intends to capture more intimate.
Mobile photography enables the production process, which is in danger of being sacralised, to take place in a more impulsive way. Of course, this process also shapes the photographer's "what he is interested in" and the way he "thinks about photography".
