Even if you are not very interested in photography, Istanbul attracts you with every cornerand every place. In this respect, it is like a paradise for travelling souls. I spent most of mylife as a flaneur in this city where I was born and raised. In the Flaneur series, I presentedyou the photographs I took during these wanderings.
Istanbul is a city of "opportunities" that has been receiving intensive immigration sinceRoman times. Having been the capital of Rome, Byzantium and finally the Ottoman Empire, this city has attracted people in every period. The most valuable region of this city, whosecurrent registered official population is around 16 million, is undoubtedly the Bosphorus. Thiswater strait stretching from the Black Sea to the Marmara Sea separates two continents;Asia and Europe. This city, which has received uncontrolled migration since its history, hasperhaps been experiencing its biggest transformation in the last 20 years. With the 3rd Bosphorus Bridge, the gigantic 3rd airport and the "Canal Istanbul" project planned to bebuilt despite all environmental reports, it is shifting its growth towards the Black Sea coast.
Every street of Istanbul opens to the Bosphorus, and every flaneur's journey leads to acompletely different view...
