İsmail Tarhan was born in Istanbul/Kadıköy in 1988.

In 2010, he entered Marmara University, Fine Art Faculty, Photography Department and graduated with the first place in the project. Afterwards, he was entitled to enter Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University Photography Department for his master's degree. In 2018, he completed his ‘Pedagogical Formation’ education from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University, Department of Educational Sciences.

He opened her first solo exhibition ‘childish things’ at HERA, Istanbul/Kadıköy in 2015. His works have been exhibited in many galleries, festivals and fairgrounds such as Pera Museum, TÜYAP Art Fair, Istanbul Photography Gallery.

In 2020, the artist moved to Antalya and is working on her master's thesis in addition to her independent works.
