İsmail Tarhan is a visual artist based in Antalya, born in Kadıköy, Istanbul in 1988.

He studied Photography at Marmara University Faculty of Fine Arts, graduating with a project award, and later continued his academic work at Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University. In 2018, he completed his pedagogical training.

His first solo exhibition, “Childish Things” (2015), was held in Istanbul. Since then, his work has been shown in galleries, festivals, and art fairs, including the Pera Museum and TÜYAP Art Fair.

Tarhan’s work navigates the intersection of documentation and artistic interpretation, often focusing on depictions of nature, performance arts and cultural production. In addition to his artistic output, he has contributed to art education by taking on teaching roles at various institutions.
